Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, located in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley, offers one of the most incredible wildlife experiences. The park’s mist-covered hillsides are home to almost half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. This biologically diverse region also shelters over 120 mammal species, including baboons, chimpanzees, elephants, and antelopes, as well as 350 bird species, with 23 endemic to the Albertine Rift.
Gorilla trekking is a captivating, unforgettable experience that takes you deep into this ancient forest, dating back over 25,000 years. Your journey to meet the gorillas, through dense, challenging forest terrain, is an adventure worth every effort. Bwindi has 13 habituated gorilla groups available for trekking, located in four regions: Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo, and Rushaga.
